I was born and raised in São Paulo/Brazil, in a neighborhood called Brooklin (yes, with an I). I have also lived in NYC for 2 years (curiously, never in Brooklyn). My ticket into advertising was an internship at Leo Burnett/SP in 2003. Only 6 months later, I was shortlisted at the Young Lions Brazil competition, ranked #23 creative under 28 years old in the country.

After a quick stop at Talent Marcel, I took a wild shot by moving to a so-called second grade new market: digital. What some people called a professional suicide, ended up being a turning point. I was lucky to experience the digital transformation hands-on, learning a lot from great teammates at MRM/McCann, Wunderman, and Razorfish (from CW, to ACD, to digital Creative Director for Samsung and Azul Airlines). When integrated became a watchword, I took the next challenge: a multidisciplinary role at iris Worldwide/SP. I’m glad I was able to lead a small - but tough - creative team through 2 successful major pitches in less than a year.

Right before I joined Africa/SP as a senior copywriter, I was honored to be a member of the New York Festivals Grand Jury. The whole experience made me realize it was no luck getting 2 Cannes Lions shortlists and a handful of medals at the Wave Festival, El Ojo, CCSP, and Webby Awards. It also helps me push myself to dig deep for the gold every single day.
